Alright my readers, instead of our usual Can’t Wait Wednesday post the Traveling Sisters, Kim with It’s All About the Thrill and I are bringing you a brand new meme! This one is all about falling behind – a topic that’s perfect for me right now because I’ve fallen behind on nearly everything in my life!

Me: trying and failing to catch up on all my reading.

Normally, we’ll be posting this on Friday’s but this weeks installment is coming to you today! Kim, Brenda and Norma have some great pics this week so be sure to check out their blogs to see what they’ve fallen behind on! For me, I’ll be featuring Killman Creek by Rachel Caine. This is book numero dos in the Stillhouse Lake series and if you haven’t checked out the first book or my review for it – you definitely should!

I really loved the first installment and it had me rapt from the very first line! So I was incredibly excited to read the follow up and immediately borrowed it from the local library. However, it’s now been renewed 3 times and has been sitting on my bookshelf for weeks! This was a Traveling Friends read and I didn’t look at any of the threads for fear of giving too much away. But alas, now I must read this book alone *the horror* as its time has past while I’ve been toiling away at my work transition.

HOWEVER, despite having to read it alone it is on my very short immediate TBR list and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s not often that I come across thriller series and even less often that I want to continue on, but Caine has an incredibly unique voice and she is a true master of story-telling. I’m hoping to get to this one within the next week or two and bring you all a recipe and a review for it!

From Goodreads:

Every time Gwen closed her eyes, she saw him in her nightmares. Now her eyes are open, and he’s not going away.

Gwen Proctor won the battle to save her kids from her ex-husband, serial killer Melvin Royal, and his league of psychotic accomplices. But the war isn’t over. Not since Melvin broke out of prison. Not since she received a chilling text…

You’re not safe anywhere now.

Her refuge at Stillhouse Lake has become a trap. Gwen leaves her children in the protective custody of a fortified, well-armed neighbor. Now, with the help of Sam Cade, brother of one of Melvin’s victims, Gwen is going hunting. She’s learned how from one of the sickest killers alive.

But what she’s up against is beyond anything she feared—a sophisticated and savage mind game calculated to destroy her. As trust beyond her small circle of friends begins to vanish, Gwen has only fury and vengeance to believe in as she closes in on her prey. And sure as the night, one of them will die.

I mean…..dayummmmmm – amiright tho?

What are some reads you’ve fallen behind on recently that you’re excited to get back to? Have you read Stillhouse Lake or Killman Creek – what did you think? Drop me a note in the comments and let me know!

  1. I started listening to this one and then I got distracted and forgot to listen. Then I got too lost. I need to buy the book and read it. I really enjoyed what I listened too!

Your office looks like a great place to work and blog!
